Cape Harbour is a southwest Cape Coral marina village with gated residences around a public waterfront basin of shops and restaurants, plus a Safe Harbor marina on the spreader canal near the Caloosahatchee.
Avatar started a handful of houses here before Will Stout's Realmark Development bought the project in 2000 and built the marina village, retail, and condo towers through the mid-2000s. Realmark sold leftover land in 2015; LDC Cape Harbour Holdings took that position in 2019, and later phases have added on- and off-water townhomes and the Funky Fish Houses. Housing runs from single-family gulf-access lots and coach homes to the 15-story Marina South towers at 5781 and 5793 Cape Harbour Drive. The village itself is open to the public, with waterfront dining (Rumrunners, Fathoms, The French Press, Cape Harbour Oyster Bar and Grill), shops, and events. Safe Harbor Cape Harbour is the on-site marina: wet slips for boats about 35-60 feet (max beam 16 feet, max draft 5.6 feet, unrestricted air draft), transient dockage, indoor dry stack, fuel, and pump-out. Waterway Guide lists 76 wet slips. Access to the river and Gulf is via the Cape Coral spreader / Chiquita system; 2025 listings claim the Chiquita Lock was removed, but that has not been confirmed on a city or marina page, so gulf access is recorded as lock. There is no deeded beach club or golf course. Master and building HOA fees vary by product and were not taken from a single official fee sheet.
