Cypress Lake is a member-owned private golf club on Winkler Road, not a gated housing community: a Dick Wilson eighteen restored by Ron Forse, with practice facilities and almost no non-golf amenities.
The official club site states it is a private, member-owned 18-hole championship course designed by Dick Wilson and later touched by Arthur Hills and Ron Garl, then fully restored to the original Wilson design by Ron Forse in 2018. The club is explicit that it is not affiliated with any real estate, is not inside a gated community, and does not offer pools, fitness, bocce, or pickleball — golf and golf-related events only. Official history: landowners donated 164.8 acres south of Cypress Lake Drive; first nine opened February 22, 1961; full 18 in 1962 (history page also says July 1961 for the second nine). Walking is allowed with no walking fee. Six tee sets. There is a current membership waiting list. This row exists so the course can live on GolfCourses/GolfTees; it is not a residential HOA. Demographics are ZIP 33919.
