Pelican Landing is a mature WCI master plan on more than 2,300 acres along Estero Bay, where the HOA covers a private 34-acre Gulf island, marina, and racquet campus, and two optional country clubs supply the golf.
WCI (then Westinghouse Communities) started Phase I in 1989; Phase II, The Colony at Pelican Landing, followed in the late 1990s and is also tracked as its own community because buyers search the Colony club. Official association copy describes more than 2,300 acres, lakes and preserves, and a full product mix from cottages and villas to estate homes and Gulf-view high-rises. The HOA's signature amenity is a 34-acre beach park on Big Hickory Island reached by a resident shuttle boat (about 12 minutes). Also included in the annual assessment: a tennis center with 12 Har-Tru courts, six pickleball and two bocce courts, a fitness center and community center, a kayak park on Spring Creek, three fishing piers, and a marina on Estero Bay with complimentary sailboats, kayaks, and lessons.
