South Seas Island Resort

South Seas is Captiva's 330-acre resort-residential campus at the north end of the island — villas, condos, and Homes of Distinction — rebuilt after Hurricane Ian around Club Captiva amenities and Beau Welling's 12-hole walking course, The Clutch.

Official South Seas materials (2024 fact sheet and southseas.com) place the resort at 5400 Plantation Road, Captiva, FL 33924, on 330 acres with more than half described as wildlife preserve and estuary, plus two-and-a-half miles of Gulf beach at the north end of Captiva. The resort is more than 75 years old and has been in a phased reopening after Hurricane Ian. Accommodations include beach, marina, and tennis villas, beach homes, and luxury Homes of Distinction; the 2024 sheet said more than 100 accommodations were then open for reservations. Club Captiva amenities are limited to guests who book directly with South Seas and to owners with Club Captiva access: Captiva Landing, Bayview pool complex (three family pools), Beach House and Harborside restaurants, fitness, beach services, water sports, and The Clutch. The Clutch is a 12-hole family walking short course redesigned by Beau Welling, built around three retention ponds, with views of Pine Island Sound, Redfish Pass, North Captiva, and the Gulf. The Yacht Club Marina offers short- and long-term dockage (fact sheet: 3,000 linear feet, fuel, electricity). Access from the mainland is via Sanibel Causeway and the Blind Pass bridge. This is a mixed hotel-and-ownership campus, not a conventional bundled golf HOA.
